Your data never leaves your device.

Delete My X has no server, no database, and no accounts of ours. It runs entirely inside your own browser, driving the X tab you're already logged into — the same clicks you'd make by hand, just automated. Your posts, your session, your cookies: none of it is ever sent anywhere. We literally can't see what you delete.

How it works

Three steps to an empty timeline.

1

Pick what to clear

Open your X profile and choose your scope — posts, replies, retweets, or all three. Optionally keep anything newer than a date you set.

2

Hit delete

The extension works through your timeline automatically, deleting only the tweets that show your Delete control — so nothing of anyone else's is ever touched.

3

Walk away

It self-resumes through page reloads, rate-limits, and crashes — even in a background tab. Come back to a clean slate.

FAQ

Good questions.

Is this safe? Could it delete the wrong thing?

It only ever acts where X shows your own Delete menu or Undo-repost button. Other people's tweets — even ones quoted or shown as reply context — don't have those controls, so they're skipped automatically. It does exactly what you'd do by hand, just faster.

Is deletion permanent?

Yes. Deleting a tweet on X is permanent — there's no undo. Treat this as a one-way door. If you might want your history later, download your X archive first (Settings → Your account → Download an archive of your data), then run Delete My X.

Do you see my tweets or my password?

No. There's no server and no database on our side. The extension drives the X tab you're already logged into, locally in your browser. Your tweets, session, and cookies never leave your device — we have no way to see any of it.

Will I get rate-limited or banned?

The extension paces itself and backs off automatically when X throttles it, then resumes on its own. It performs ordinary delete actions through the normal interface — nothing exotic. Large timelines simply take longer.

Can I keep my recent posts?

Yes. Set a date and Delete My X will only remove tweets older than it — handy for clearing your archive while keeping the last few weeks or months.

Which browsers work?

Chrome and Chromium-based browsers (Edge, Brave, Arc) at launch. A Firefox version is planned.
